All the fuss about getting into the top 100,000

I never had in mind to write articles, it came to me as a necessity. At some point, I understood it would be useful and necessary. I don't know how good I really am at it, all I see is that it does make a difference to the number of new contacts for Ellen Clothing Manufacturer. So for me, as a business partner in the company, it makes sense to do it.. and do it well.


As I got more familiar with internet (and all its big talks about traffic and being on the first page), I slowly realized that my new mission was to write meaningful notes, blog comments and articles. The intention being of course to explain what the company can do and how well connected it is. This is also helpful to our consultants as it makes life easier to deal with educated contacts.


To add to the challenge, this also had to be done in a way that exposes the company and its manufacturing services (getting better and better every year, by the way). That's when Alexa comes into play. Alexa is a recognized measure of exposure for any website. So what Alexa is telling me is basically how well I am doing my job of making the company more visible.





Top websites rank with Alexa in the top 100,000. Any other website is rank from 100,001 (very popular) to 20,000,000 (unknown to the large public).
So here is where we stand today, as at July 14th 2009, the alexa ranking of www.clothing-manufacturers.net is 4,317,057.


This score is not incredible, not wonderful and nothing to brag about. In fact I look more at the Alexa widget below as a mark of transparency. It just shows what is the traffic rank of the blog, not more, not less.



For any marketing person operating on internet, the goal in terms of Alexa Ranking is to get into the Top 100000.
