In May, South Korea’s export value was US$48.01 billion, an increase of 23.5% from the same month last year; its import value was US$45.26 billion, an increase of 29.9% from the same month last year, and the trade surplus was US$2.75 billion. The cumulative exports from January to May were US$228.47 billion, an increase of 27.4% over the same period last year; imports were US$212.72 billion, an increase of 26.2% compared with the same period last year, with a trade surplus of US$15.75 billion.
