Kazakhstan plans to export approximately 10,000 tons of wool to China
Interfax, Nur-Sultan, September 16th, Akhmetov, Director of the Livestock Production and Processing Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, said at a press conference that day that During President Kayev’s visit to China, the two sides signed a protocol on inspection and quarantine requirements for Kazakhstan’s wool exported to China. Kazakh wool producers plan to export about 10,000 tons of wool to China every year, and will continue to expand exports in the future.
Akhmetov said that Kazakhstan’s annual wool output is about 36,000 tons. Kazakhstan once exported 5,000 tons of wool to China, but it was later suspended due to the lack of inspection and quarantine certificates. Previously, Kazakhstan exported high-quality fine wool to China. In the future, it will mainly export semi-coarse wool used for insulation and sports materials.
