“Waterless printing and dyeing” technology starts industrialization in Qingdao

According to reports, Jifa Group’s supercritical carbon dioxide waterless dyeing technology uses carbon dioxide as the dyeing medium. The entire dyeing process is separated from the use of water and chemical additives, and can truly achieve no sewage discharge, promoting the development of traditional watermarked dyeing. Revolutionary upgrades and disruptive innovations are typical greenenvironmental protection technologies that are ready for large-scale production. Jifa Group’s technology has reached the international leading level, achieving full color coverage of the dyeing process. Its industrial application has positive significance for improving the green manufacturing level of my country’s textile industry, building ecological civilization and developing a low-carbon circular economy.
The industrialization demonstration line launched this time will start trial operation in June 2021. It was built by Jifa Group on the basis of small-scale and pilot-scale demonstration lines. Its production capacity, process time, etc. Many performance indicators have been significantly improved compared to the pilot demonstration line. The current annual production capacity can reach 1,000 tons, and the dyeing efficiency can be shortened from 8-12 hours for traditional water dyeing to 3-4 hours. It has the conditions for industrial promotion and application. The commissioning of this industrial line will provide the industry with complete technical and equipment standards and specifications, allowing my country’s supercritical carbon dioxide water-free dyeing technology to continue to maintain its leading position in the world.
It is reported that traditional textile dyeing mainly uses water as the medium. Dyeing 1 ton of textiles requires about 100 tons of fresh water resources and produces a large amount of sewage, which seriously restricts the sustainable development of my country’s textile industry. Since 2014, Jifa Group has conducted scientific research on the supercritical carbon dioxide water-free dyeing process through industry-university-research cooperation. It has successively solved problems in related technologies, dyes, equipment and key components, and developed circulating pumps, valves, dyes, etc. Key equipment and components such as kettles, we have built small-scale trials, pilot trials and industrialization demonstration lines with completely independent intellectual property rights and continuous normal operation. The overall technology has reached the international leading level.
