EU issues consumer warning on Chinese-made children’s jackets
On June 24, 2011, the European Commission’s non-food rapid warning system issued a consumer warning on Chinese-made children’s jackets. The notifying country in this case is Slovakia. The children’s jacket is blue with a hood (removable), numbers 2&4; its style/model number is A7910.
Since the hood of this children’s clothing is equipped with a hood cord, there is a risk of strangulation and suffocation if a child uses it incorrectly. This product does not comply with the relevant EU directive EN14682.
Currently, the Hungarian authorities have ordered the product to be withdrawn from the market and recalled.
To this end, it is recommended that relevant domestic production and export enterprises attach great importance to this.
