Textile and apparel exports rebound and resume growth
Driven by textiles, overall exports of textiles and apparel rebounded and resumed growth in November. According to data released by the General Administration of Customs, in RMB terms, exports for the month were 145.35 billion yuan, an increase of 4.1%, of which textile exports were 60.7 billion yuan, an increase of 10.2%, and clothing exports were 84.65 billion yuan, an increase of 0.08%. The cumulative decline in textile and apparel exports from January to November narrowed, with exports reaching 1,574.43 billion yuan, a decrease of 0.97%, of which textile exports were 630.64 billion yuan, an increase of 2.2%, and clothing exports were 943.79 billion yuan, a decrease of 3%.
In terms of US dollars, textile and clothing exports in November were US$21.62 billion, down 1.6%, of which textile exports were US$9.03 billion, an increase of 4.3%, and clothing exports were US$12.59 billion, down 5.4%. From January to November, the cumulative exports of textiles and clothing were US$239.56 billion, down 6.7%, of which textile exports were US$96 billion, down 3.7%, and clothing exports were US$143.56 billion, down 8.7%.
