EU issues consumer warning on Chinese girls’ dresses
On December 9, 2016, the European Commission’s Rapid Alert System for Non-Food Products (RAPEX) issued a consumer warning (alert number: A12/1593/16) on Chinese-made “sunseadesign” brand girls’ dresses. The notifying country in this case is Hungary. The product notified this time is a pink short-sleeved tulle dress for girls, decorated with flowers and beads. Size is 1. The style/model of the product is V749. Barcode unknown. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development industry classification code (OECD Portal Category) is 67000000-Clothing (clothing).
The small rhinestones and semi-beads decorated on the above-mentioned clothes may fall off and cause suffocation if children accidentally eat them.
Currently, the Hungarian authorities have taken measures to delist the above products and recall them from consumers.
