Canada implements voluntary recall of Chinese-made bathrobes

On December 16, 2016, Health Canada and TJXCanada jointly announced a voluntary recall of Chinese-made bathrobes.

The products recalled this time are bathrobes suitable for babies aged 0 to 9 months. The specific information of the product is as follows,

The recalled products were sold in 574 units at Winners, Marshalls and HomeSense stores in Canada from February 2016 to November 2016. The reason for the recall is that Health Canada’s sampling tests determined that the recalled products did not meet the requirements of Canadian law regarding the flammability of children’s pajamas. Children’s loose-fitting pajamas are more likely to come into contact with ignition sources such as stoves, candles and matches than tight-fitting pajamas. Once ignited, loose pajamas will burn quickly and may cause severe burns over large areas of a child’s body. Therefore, cotton is not allowed in loose fitting pajamas fabrics.
