According to a report by Financial Express on February 9, the Central Fund Board of Bangladesh recently decided to provide pensions to garment workers. According to the 2013 Labor Act, garment companies are required to hand over 0.03% of export revenue to replenish the central fund, which has accumulated to Tk 260 million so far. The Central Fund Board has decided that workers who die at work will receive Tk 300,000 pension from January, workers who die outside the workplace will get Tk 200,000, and workers who are injured at work or have incurable diseases will get Tk 100,000.
