Jinghe, Xinjiang: Cotton is growing well and the emergence rate is about 70%
After May Day, cotton seedlings have begun to emerge in various parts of Xinjiang. Although bad weather such as strong winds and hail occurred in some areas, the scope of the impact was small and had little impact on the growth of cotton in the later period.
On May 6, a reporter conducted a telephone interview with a cotton farmer in Jinghe, northern Xinjiang, and learned that the local cotton emergence rate was around 70%. This cotton farmer has planted 500 acres of cotton this year. The main weather problem he currently faces is the large temperature difference between morning and evening. There will be rainfall in the area in the near future, which is beneficial to cotton growth.
