General Administration of Customs: Imported baby and child products such as Ralph Lauren and ZARA were found to be unqualified
The General Administration of Customs website reported on June 1 the quality of someimportedbaby and child products detected between June 2021 and May 2022. Typical cases of safety failure involve 82 batches of imported baby and child products in 5 categories, including clothing, children’s shoes, toys, toothbrushes, and food contact products. Including Ralph Lauren, ZARA, Jordan, KENZO KIDS, MOSCHINO KIDS and other brands.
In the typical cases reported, the unqualified items detected in imported clothing were mainly formaldehyde content, color fastness, pH value, tensile strength of accessories, durability labels, etc.; the unqualified items detected in imported children’s shoes were mainly steel hooks. Length, etc.; the unqualified items detected in imported toys are mainly small parts, toxic and hazardous substance content, compulsory product certification, etc.; the unqualified items detected in imported toothbrushes are mainly sanding, monofilament bending recovery rate, and toothbrush head thickness etc.; the unqualified items detected in imported food contact products for infants and children are mainly decolorization test, acrylonitrile migration, etc.
