-Overview of China’s home textile exports
From January to May 2017, the country’s home textile exports totaled US$9.808 billion, an increase of 1.99%.
1. Exports to major export markets such as the United States, the European Union, and Japan have maintained steady growth
From January to May, home textile exports to the United States were US$2.799 billion, an increase of 6.85%; exports to the EU were US$1.696 billion, an increase of 0.7%; exports to Japan were US$1.016 billion, an increase of 5.12%.
From the perspective of the intercontinental market, home textile exports to Latin America and South America continued to maintain a growth momentum, with exports of 487 and 379 million US dollars, an increase of 24.14% and 27.57%; the decline in Africa and the Middle East gradually decreased, with exports of 382 and 794 million US dollars. US dollar, down 9.42%, 7.54%.
2. The five major exporting provinces and cities are relatively stable, with Hebei, Tianjin and Xinjiang continuing to maintain growth momentum
From January to May, the top five export provinces and cities were Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong, Shanghai, and Guangdong. Among them, Shandong dropped by 4.83%, Guangdong had a certain increase of 0.76%, and other regions maintained stable growth. The exports of Hebei, Tianjin and Xinjiang were 356, 223 and 227 million US dollars, an increase of 57.39%, 11.73% and 48.67%. The growth rate has declined compared with the previous month. The growth of Hebei and Xinjiang is mainly due to the emergence of foreign trade export service providers, and the export volume has grown rapidly.
3. Export situation of main commodities
From January to May, the exports of bed textiles were US$4.159 billion, a year-on-year increase of 0.59%; the exports of kitchen textiles were US$649 million, a year-on-year decrease of 3.10%; the exports of curtain products were US$949 million, a year-on-year increase of 6.28%; the exports of towel products were US$1.178 billion. US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 3.13%.
