South Korea imposes anti-dumping duties on Chinese fully drawn polyester yarn
On January 6, 2022, South Korea’s Ministry of Planning and Finance issued Announcement No. 2022-22, which officially banned polyester originating in China in accordance with Order No. 888 of the Ministry of Planning and Finance. Anti-dumping duties will be levied on Polyester Filament Fully Drawn Yarn (FDY). The measures will take effect on January 6, 2022 and will be valid for 5 years.
On January 27, 2021, the Korea Trade Commission launched an anti-dumping investigation into fully drawn polyester yarn originating in China. On June 17, 2021, South Korea made a preliminary anti-dumping ruling on the products involved in China and recommended that no provisional anti-dumping duties be imposed on the products involved. On November 18, 2021, the Korea Trade Commission issued an announcement to make a final anti-dumping ruling on the Chinese products involved, recommending that the Korean Ministry of Strategy and Finance impose a five-year anti-dumping duty on the products involved, with a tax rate of 3.95-10.91%.
