-Turkey’s apparel exports grew by .%
According to data from the Turkish Statistics Bureau and the Ministry of Trade, Turkish clothing exports increased by 23.02% year-on-year from January to November 2021. From January to November 2021, Turkey’s clothing exports reached US$16.676 billion, compared with US$13.555 billion in the same period in 2020.
From a category perspective, the export volume of knitted and crocheted clothing and accessories (HS Chapter 61) from January to November 2021 was US$9.808 billion, compared with the same period in 2020 US$7.531 billion, an increase of 30.2%.
The export value of non-knitted clothing and accessories (HS Chapter 62) was US$6.868 billion, an increase of 14.0% from US$6.023 billion in the same period in 2020.
In terms of non-clothing, exports of carpets, floor mats and tapestries (HS Chapter 57) surged by 26.7% to US$2.951 billion.
Exports of used clothes and other textiles and rags (HS Chapter 63) increased by 15.6% to US$2.615 billion.
At the same time, Turkey’s imports of cotton, cotton yarn and cotton textiles (HS Chapter 52) increased significantly by 42.2% to US$3.289 billion.
