The theme of the conference was “Coping with the Financial Crisis and Promoting Sustainable Development of China and the Cotton Industry.” From the World Trade Organization (WTO), the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Embassy in China, the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade of Uzbekistan, the International Federation of Fabric Manufacturers, the National Cotton Federation of the United States, the International Cotton Association, the Brazilian Cotton Growers Association, the French Cotton Association, Cotton Association of India, as well as the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Commerce, State Administration for Industry and Commerce, General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, National Supply and Marketing Cooperatives, Development Research Center of the State Council, China Agricultural Development Bank, China Fabric Industry Association, China More than 800 representatives from the Chemical Fiber Industry Association, heads of cotton and fabric companies, experts and scholars attended the meeting.
