What is the difference between anti-fouling and easy-to-remove?

Anti-fouling Generally speaking, fabrics with waterproof and oil-proof effects can be defined as anti-fouling finishing, that is, waterproof, water-soluble stains and oily stains. The conventional DuPont Teflon three-proof finishing agent’s test application form clearly states Water- and oil-repellent finishing of fabrics is defined as anti-fouling finishing. It can be seen that the fabric needs to be stain-repellent and anti-fouling, and it must also be waterproof.

Releases Stains refers to preventing stains from staining the fabric and making it difficult to wash. The anti-fouling finishing proposed to solve this problem is actually the easy-to-remove finishing of fabrics. The easy decontamination in anti-fouling refers to Easily washable stains. Its testing standard is AATCC130. ITS testing clearly uses the AATCC130 standard to test the antifouling performance of products. The antifouling performance of the fabric tested here is actually the easy stain removal performance of the fabric. It can be seen that the fabric needs to be easy to remove stains and does not necessarily have the function of being waterproof and oil-proof.

Anti-fouling and easy-to-remove functions
Some customers also proposed that fabrics need to be anti-fouling and easy-to-decontaminate, including both anti-fouling and easy-to-decontaminate finishing. Generally, a variety of additives are needed to achieve this effect, and the number of times of washing resistance is also increased. The testing standards are AATCC118 and AATCC130.
The anti-fouling and easy-to-remove functions that DuPont talks about are advanced double-effect Teflon finishing. The test requires that it should be waterproof (AATCC22), oil-proof (AATCC118) and easy to decontaminate (AATCC130) after 20 times of washing. The test should not be lower than level 3.
NANO-TEX’s Resists Spills & Releases Stains (RSRS), which is an anti-fouling and easy-to-remove function, requires that the test requires that it be waterproof (AATCC22), oil-proof (AATCC118), and easy-to-remove (AATCC130) after 30 washes, no less than level 3.
3M’s anti-fouling and easy-to-decontaminate functions can be achieved with only one additive, Scotchgard PM-930. 3M’s testing requirements are waterproof (AATCC193) after 20 times of washing, oil-proof (AATCC118) and easy-to-decontaminate according to 3M’s internal Stain-K and Stain-E assays.
