From an enterprise level, industrial design service companies are generally small in scale and have a single service field. Some manufacturing companies have insufficient investment in industrial design. The imbalance between supply and demand of public services and basic research in the field of industrial design has affected the quality and efficiency improvement of the manufacturing industry to a certain extent. The establishment of the National Industrial Design Institute is an important measure to improve the level of public services and basic research in industrial design, and is an urgent need to break through the bottleneck of industry development.
The overall principle for building industrial design institutes is to “build provincial industrial design institutes first, and then identify national industrial design institutes.” The goal is to form a service and research system that supports the innovative development of industrial design in my country. By 2025, a network of national and provincial industrial design institutes that caters to the development needs of advanced manufacturing and covers key industries and fields will be basically established.
