From October 1, 2013, the European Commission decided that EN ISO 20471:2013 “High visibility clothing – Test methods and requirements” 》 will replace EN471:2003+A1:2007 “Special High Visibility Warning Clothing – Test Methods and Requirements” and become the new harmonized standard for safety reflective clothing in the EU. From October 1, 2013, the EEC verification certificates of all safety reflective clothing tested according to EN471 will be invalid; all safety reflective clothing should comply with the requirements before being placed on the EU market EN ISO 20471:2013 standard requirements.
The main differences between the new version of EN ISO 20471:2013 reflective clothing standard and the old version of EN471:2003+A1:2007 standard mainly include the following seven aspects:
First, the color and brightness requirements should be met after the cleaning cycle;
The second is resistance to sweat stains The dyeing requirements for color fastness to staining will be changed from level 3 to lower level 4;
Third, the tensile strength requirements of woven materials will be changed to lower 100 N;
Fourth, the bursting strength requirement of knitted materials is changed to at least 100 kPa (test area of 50 square centimeters) and a lower of 200 kPa ( 7.3 square centimeters test area);
The fifth is the physical performance test of single-layer or multi-layer clothing. The air permeability index (RET) cannot be greater than 5 square meters Pa /watt. If the air permeability index exceeds 5 square meters Pa/W, it must be measured and determined to be imt≥0.15;
Sixth, there is no distinction between the performance levels of reflective materials and requirements Same as Level 2 of EN 471;
Seven is the new marking change.
