On July 8, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment announced that the “Zhejiang Province Construction Project Carbon Emission Assessment Preparation Guide (Trial)” (hereinafter referred to as the “Guide”) has been recently issued. The “Guide” requires that since Starting from August 8, carbon emissions will be carried out in the environmental impact assessment of construction projects that prepare environmental impact reports in nine key industries including steel, thermal power, building materials, chemicals, petrochemicals, nonferrous metals, papermaking, printing and dyeing, and chemical fiber throughout Zhejiang Province. Evaluate pilot work.
It is reported that Zhejiang Province is the first province in the country to carry out carbon assessment work across the province, and the pilot work has also received approval from the Ministry of Ecology and Environment. According to the relevant person in charge, the “Guidelines” are guided by the carbon dioxide emission peak target and neutralization vision, give full play to the basic role of environmental impact assessment in source prevention and control and process management, and promote pollution reduction and carbon reduction in the “two high” industries.
