China’s current standards related to thermal protection mainly include the following standards:
1. GA10-2002 “Firefighter Fire Fighting Protective Clothing” stipulates that the overall thermal protection TPP value of the clothing is ≥1.172×103 kW •s/m2.
2. GB8965.1-2009 “Flame-retardant Protective Clothing”, the thermal protection performance in the standard adopts TPP test. Level A requires fabrics in direct contact with the skin to have TPP ≥ 126 kW •s/m2, and there is a gap between the skin and clothing. The TPP of the fabric is ≥250 kW •s/m2.
3. GB/T 17599-1998 “Determination of thermal protection properties of protective clothing fabrics and resistance to impact of molten metal drops”. This standard stipulates the protection requirements for molten metal and stipulates that the fabric temperature rise shall be tested according to standard monitoring methods. At 40 K, the number of molten droplets is >15.
