Pakistan proposes a list of recommended products for tariff reduction in the second phase of the China-Pakistan Free Trade Area
According to Pakistan’s “National” report, Tariq Iqbal Puri, CEO of the Trade and Development Agency of Pakistan (TDAP), recently chaired a meeting attended by people from the textile industry and said, TDAP has put forward a list of recommended products for tariff concessions in the second phase of the China-Pakistan Free Trade Area. He believes that the Pakistani government should recommend products with competitive advantages and export surplus to increase exports to China under the China-Pakistan Free Trade Agreement.
Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, consultant to the Ministry of Textiles of Pakistan, said at the meeting that although China has imported a large amount of cotton yarn, textile fabrics and other textiles from Pakistan, Pakistan’s textile exports to China still have huge growth potential.
