Vietnam imported the most fabrics worth US$100 million from China
According to the statistical report of the General Administration of Vietnam Customs, Vietnam imported US$666.58 million in May this year (2011). In the first five months of this year, Vietnam imported US$2.81 billion in fabrics, an increase of 39.71% over the same period last year. , reaching 48.4% of this year’s plan, and accounting for 7% of Vietnam’s total product imports in the first five months of this year.
The main source countries for Vietnam’s fabric imports in the first five months of this year include mainland China (USD 1.17 billion), South Korea (USD 562.87 million) and Taiwan (USD 469.84 million). The import amounts were respectively higher than Last year’s growth was 45.62%, 30% and 32.16%, and respectively accounted for 41.78%, 20.07% and 16.75% of Vietnam’s total import value of top products in the first five months of this year.
The amount of fabric imported by Vietnam in the first five months of this year increased by 100% compared with the same period last year, including the Philippines (238%), Belgium (155%), Italy (130.8%) and the United States (111.2%). The value of Vietnam’s fabric imports from Denmark in the first five months of this year fell by 25.6% compared with the same period last year.
