EU issues consumer warning on Chinese-made “JUMBO” brand children’s tops
On July 22, 2011, the European Commission’s non-food rapid warning system issued a consumer warning on Chinese-made “JUMBO” brand children’s tops. The notifying country in this case is Bulgaria. The main ingredients of the children’s clothing are: 95% cotton, 5% spandex; the item code is S11-031; the sizes of the children’s clothing are No. 12, No. 18, and No. 24, and the barcodes are 7463713854507, 7463713854477, and 7463713854484.
Since the decorative artificial crystal diamonds on this children’s clothing can easily separate from the main body, there is a risk of suffocation once swallowed by children.
At present, the Bulgarian competent authorities have ordered the prohibition of sales, withdrawal from the market and recall measures for this product.
To this end, it is recommended that relevant domestic production and export enterprises attach great importance to this.
