According to reports, Pakistan’s Cotton Crop Assessment Committee (CCAC) initially set a cotton production target of 14.01 million bales, but later lowered the target to 12.2 million bales due to flooding in the southern region. Pakistan’s higher-than-expected cotton harvest is mainly attributed to the use of high-tech cotton seeds, popularization of knowledge on the use of chemical fertilizers, and improved irrigation water.
