The overall export of natural fiber products is sluggish, but exports to Vietnam continue to grow
In the first four months of this year, my country’s exports of natural fiber products were sluggish, with exports down 12.6% year-on-year. The main export markets were Hong Kong, Vietnam and the European Union. The total exports to the above three markets accounted for 30% of the total exports of natural fiber products during the same period. 36.7%. Among them, exports to Hong Kong and the EU market experienced significant declines, but exports to the Vietnam market still maintained growth.
According to statistics from the project feasibility analysis report, in the first four months of this year, my country’s exports of natural fiber products to Hong Kong and the EU were US$1.02 billion and US$630 million respectively, down 17.8% and 28.4% respectively year-on-year; exports to Vietnam were 6.8 billion, a year-on-year increase of 4%.
It can be seen that due to the continued high cost of my country’s textile industry and the continuous strengthening of trade barriers to my country’s textile and apparel products in the international market, my country’s textile and apparel export advantages are gradually being replaced by low labor cost countries such as Vietnam. Therefore, Vietnam has a negative impact on our country. The demand for imported natural fiber raw materials continues to grow.
Looking at the main types of natural fiber products exported, the export value of various types of cotton fabrics ranks top. Among them, there are 14 main varieties with export sales exceeding US$100 million in the first four months.
Judging from the situation of export enterprises, my country’s export concentration of natural fiber products is low. The total export volume of the top 10 enterprises in export volume only accounted for 8.4% of the total export volume in the same period. Among them, Weiqiao Textile Co., Ltd. ranked first The amount of exported natural fiber products dropped significantly by 65.3% compared with the same period last year.
