According to China Customs statistics, the national yarn export value from January to November 2016 was US$9.98 billion, a slight decrease of 0.8%, which was basically the same as last year. The depreciation of the RMB against the US dollar locks in corporate profits, which is a substantial benefit to export companies. The average export unit price was US$2.43/kg, a year-on-year decrease of 12.3%, as the volume increased and the price decreased. The import value was US$6.65 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 19%, and the decline narrowed. The average unit price of imports was US$2.87/kg, a year-on-year decrease of 3.5%, and the decline narrowed.

Exports of cotton yarn, silk yarn, and chemical fiber yarn increased significantly, with increases of 15.5%, 59.1%, and 11.1%. The export value of woolen animal hair yarn decreased, with exports amounting to US$40 million, a decrease of 11%.

Together with the local cotton, it is expected that the mainland cotton will be exported by the end of December and early January. With abundant resources, the spot price of lint is easy to fall but difficult to rise.
