The United States issues a voluntary recall of baby coats made in China
On February 28, 2017, the U.S. Consumer Safety Commission (CPSC) and Dillard’s Inc. jointly announced a voluntary recall of baby coats made in China.
The recalled product is StartingOut’s artificial fur hooded jacket, ivory color, with bear-ear-shaped hood, suitable for baby girls between 3 and 24 months old. Style codes are F64CI801I and F64CI801N. The jacket has metal snaps. The brand logo “StartingOut” and the style code are printed on the label inside the seam of the jacket.
Approximately 1,800 units of the recalled product were sold in Dillard’s stores and www.dillards.com online store in the United States from September 2016 to December 2016. The unit price is about $40. The reason for the recall is that the metal snaps on the coats may come off, posing a choking hazard to children. So far, the company has received 1 report of metal snaps falling off. No injuries have been reported.
The U.S. Consumer Safety Commission (CPSC) recommends that consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and return them to the nearest Dillard’s store for a full refund.
