According to a report by Bangladesh’s “Financial Express” on April 24, Bangladesh’s labor protection level still needs to be improved. Currently, the United States refuses to grant Bangladesh GSP treatment on the grounds that Bangladesh’s labor protection does not meet the requirements. Bangladeshi analysts believe that if Bangladesh’s labor protection standards remain unimproved, it will be difficult for the Bangladesh textile industry to achieve its export target of US$50 billion in 2021.
