The demand for coarse yarn in Pakistan is relatively strong
In the week of June 9-15, on the eve of Eid al-Fitr in Pakistan, domestic yarn demand rebounded slightly. In the past few weeks, high cotton prices in Pakistan and low operating rates of textile companies have offset the impact of insufficient market demand. It is expected that cotton yarn prices may continue to remain strong before the end of Pakistan’s fiscal year.
Currently, Pakistani textile companies are facing the problem of insufficient foreign orders, and cotton yarn exports are declining rapidly. However, in the domestic and export markets, the demand for coarse yarns is relatively strong. The competitiveness of China’s domestic cotton yarn has increased with the continuous rotation of cotton reserves, so China’s yarn imports from Pakistan have dropped significantly.
Pakistan polyester prices remained unchanged last week. In the past four weeks, the domestic price of 1.4D polyester staple fiber in Pakistan has remained at 123 rupees/kg, while the import price from China was US$0.98/kg. Viscose fiber prices remained stable last week. The prices of polyester-cotton yarn (PC) and polyester-viscose yarn (PV) have remained unchanged for four consecutive weeks.
As ICE cotton futures continue to fall, the price of cotton in Pakistan has dropped slightly. The spot price in Kachira, Pakistan, fell by 50 rupees last week to 6,750 rupees/Mund. The demand for coarse yarn in Pakistan is relatively strong
