Vietnam’s textile industry trade surplus today is US$1 billion
According to a report by Vietnam’s “Investment News” on December 22: After experiencing a brief slowdown in 2016, Vietnam’s textile industry exports have regained double-digit growth this year, and the annual export volume will reach 31 billion US dollars. Among them, apparel exports were US$25.91 billion, yarn exports were US$3.51 billion, fabric exports were US$472 million, and raw and auxiliary material exports were US$1.1 billion. The total import volume of raw and auxiliary materials for the textile industry throughout the year was US$18.91 billion. Excluding raw materials and auxiliary materials serving the mainland market, the actual trade surplus of the textile industry reached US$15.5 billion, a record high. The largest market for textile exports is still the United States, accounting for 48.3% of total exports, followed by the European Union, Japan, and South Korea.
