Recently, a symposium on the 30th anniversary of the China Silk Museum was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang.
The China Silk Museum (hereinafter referred to as “National Silk”) was jointly established in 1986 by the Ministry of Textile Industry and the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province. On February 26, 1992, the National Silk Museum was officially opened. Today, we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the National Silk Road.
Zhao Feng, Director of the National Silk Museum, said that in the past 30 years, Chinese silk has grown from scratch, from existing to complete, to good, to excellent, to refined, and collections have grown from scratch. Exhibitions have become more sophisticated, research has become deeper and deeper, and social Teaching is becoming more and more lively, cooperation is becoming wider and wider, communication is spreading further and further, and the foundation is getting better and better.
By the end of 2021, the museum has a total collection of 69,465 items. It has initially established a collection system covering silk, textiles, and clothing themes from ancient and modern times, both at home and abroad, and is a first-class national museum.
Zhao Feng said that in the future, the museum will take Chinese silk as the core to carry out the collection, protection, research, display, inheritance and innovation of textile and clothing cultural heritage. It will require itself with an international vision, national position and Zhejiang’s responsibility, and research As a basis, we will promote the four major areas of silk history, technology protection, traditional crafts and contemporary fashion, serve the coordinated development of culture, economy and society, and make it a palace to protect and inherit China’s excellent traditional silk culture.
At the scene, Zhou Yang, deputy secretary of the Chinese National Silk Party Branch and deputy director of the museum, released and introduced the museum celebration theme content such as the museum celebration logo, the museum celebration slogan, the museum celebration illustrations and the museum celebration animation.
On the same day, old and new Chinese silk people also visited two special exhibitions: “Standing at Thirty: A Review of the 30th Anniversary of the China Silk Museum” and “Reinventing Patterns – The 30th Anniversary Cultural and Creative Achievements Exhibition of the China Silk Museum” exhibition.
It is reported that these two exhibitions are special themed exhibitions launched by China Silk Road for the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the museum. The exhibitions will last until April. In the future, Guosi will also launch a series of exhibitions and activities around important nodes such as “5.18 International Museum Day”, “2022 Silk Road Week” and “Asian Fashion Festival”.
