First exports fell due to exchange rate changes
In the first month of 2018, affected by the continued appreciation of the RMB, textile and apparel exports declined significantly, and export performance lagged behind the national trade in goods.
According to data released by the General Administration of Customs, in RMB terms, textile and clothing exports in January were 152.64 billion yuan, a decrease of 7.2%, of which textile exports were 65.97 billion yuan, a decrease of 0.2%, and clothing exports were 86.67 billion yuan, a decrease of 11.9%.
In terms of US dollars, textile and clothing exports in January were US$23.11 billion, a decrease of 2.6%, of which textile exports were US$9.985 billion, an increase of 4.7%, and clothing exports were US$13.12 billion, a decrease of 7.6%.
