China’s textile industry developed steadily in the first quarter
The China Textile and Apparel Industry Federation revealed on the 4th that the prosperity index of China’s textile industry in the first quarter of 2018 was 57.3, which was in a stable development range.
Since 2018, the global economic boom has continued to rebound, China’s domestic demand market has been relatively active, and overall a relatively good external environment has been provided. China’s textile industry has basically achieved a stable start in the first quarter.
In the first quarter, China’s domestic textile and apparel market growth accelerated, and online channel sales growth increased significantly. At the same time, China’s textile and apparel export market continues to pick up. In the first quarter, China’s textile and apparel exports totaled US$59.18 billion, a year-on-year increase of 4.8%, and the growth rate was 7.9 percentage points higher than the same period last year.
In the first quarter, the production situation of China’s textile industry remained stable, and the capacity utilization rate remained at a good level. The capacity utilization rate of the textile industry above designated size was as high as 80.7%.
The China Textile and Apparel Industry Federation reminds that although there are overall external conditions to continue to maintain a stable trend, it should also be noted that the development of China’s textile industry in 2018 still faces many unstable factors. There are uncertainties in the current international trade environment; constraints on textile production factors always exist, and the pressure on environmental protection supervision remains prominent.
The China Textile and Apparel Industry Federation stated that it will strive to achieve steady and rising growth in major operating indicators in 2018 and promote high-quality and stable development of the textile industry. (Title: China’s textile industry developed steadily in the first quarter)
