EU issues consumer warning on Chinese children’s bikinis
On July 11, 2011, the European Commission’s non-food rapid warning system issued a consumer warning on Chinese-made children’s bikinis. The notifying country in this case is Cyprus. This children’s bikini is suitable for children aged 2 to 4 years old, and the style/model code is F626.
Since the children’s bikini is equipped with a string, if the child uses it incorrectly, there is a risk of strangulation and suffocation. This product does not comply with the relevant EU standard EN14682.
Currently, the Cypriot authorities have ordered the product to be withdrawn from the market.
To this end, it is recommended that relevant domestic production and export enterprises attach great importance to this.
