On February 10, Zhuhai Market Supervision Bureau and Gongbei Customs held a symposium on further accelerating customs clearance of medical protective products, etc. The two parties reached a more convenient customs clearance measure for medical protective products.
On February 13, the Municipal Market Supervision Bureau issued the “About the implementation of special measures for the import of medical masks and other urgently needed prevention and control equipment during the first-level response to major public health emergencies. “Management Notice” further clarifies customs clearance procedures, improves customs clearance efficiency, and achieves zero-delay customs clearance of medical protective products.
As of February 19, it has assisted the customs in releasing 2.11 million medical masks, 22,556 sets of protective clothing, and 10 sets of monitors, with a total value of approximately RMB 22 million, effectively alleviating the city’s shortage of emergency supplies for epidemic prevention and control.
According to the cooperation mechanism, during the first-level response to public health events:
For medical devices that are not registered/filed in China and are considered to be urgently imported under the joint prevention and control mechanism of Zhuhai City, the Zhuhai Municipal Market Supervision Bureau and Gongbei Customs are divided into “medical masks and other protective products” and “protective products such as medical masks” according to the degree of urgency. “Other medical devices” two products in two ways, by optimizing the process and simplifying approval, to achieve “quick customs clearance”.
For “protective products such as medical masks”, on-site customs can first register and release based on the acceptance letter and material list made by the recipient or government department on quality safety management ; The customs will submit the registration and release information to the Zhuhai Municipal Administration for Market Regulation, and the Zhuhai Municipal Administration for Market Regulation will issue a certificate within one month and send it to the customs electronically.
For “other medical devices”, the recipient or government department shall apply to the Zhuhai Municipal Administration for Market Regulation for issuance of a certificate based on the acceptance (receipt) letter and other relevant certification materials. On-site customs inspection requires a certificate issued by the Zhuhai Municipal Administration for Market Regulation.
