Ben Qingshan Tailor is accelerating the opening of stores in China

According to the “Nihon Keizai Shimbun” report, Japan’s largest men’s clothing store, Aoyama Shoji, has formulated a China development strategy and plans to open 100 Aoyama tailoring stores in China in 5 to 6 years. The specific steps are: 5 new stores were added in Shanghai and Suzhou in 2011; 10 new stores were added every year from 2012 to 2014; thereafter, more than 20 stores were added every year. The goal is to reach 5 billion yen in total annual sales of 100 stores.
The new stores are mainly located in shopping malls across the country, covering an area of about 100 square meters. The prices are basically the same as in Japan – 2,000-6,500 yuan per suit, and are mainly targeted at middle- and high-income people.
Among Japan’s large-scale gentleman’s clothing store chains, AOKI and KONAKA have not yet opened stores in China. Aoyama Tailor-made Clothing currently only has three stores in Shanghai and Nanjing.
