Vietnam introduces content standards for harmful chemical ingredients in textiles
According to a report by Vietnam Economic Times on February 16: The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam revealed that it has solicited opinions from various functional departments on the draft national standard for the maximum content of azo-converted formaldehyde and aromatic amines in dyeing and finishing drugs in textiles. The draft stipulates applicable standards for textiles sold in the Vietnamese market. According to the new standards, textiles are divided into three categories: the first category is textiles used by children under 36 months of age, the formaldehyde content shall not exceed 30 mg per kilogram; the second category is textiles in direct contact with the skin, the formaldehyde content shall not exceed 75 mg per kilogram; Category III refers to textiles that are not in direct contact with the skin. The formaldehyde content must not exceed 300 mg per kilogram. The content of aromatic amines in the above three types of textiles shall not exceed 30 mg per kilogram.
