Indian yarn export prices slightly lowered
According to Indian official data, India’s cotton yarn exports were relatively sluggish in 2016. The cumulative export volume for the year was 1.174 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 11.57%, and the total export volume was US$3.164 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 15.47%. The export price of cotton yarn is relatively stable and has not increased with the sharp rise in cotton prices. In December 2016, as China’s demand picked up, India’s cotton yarn exports to China began to increase. According to statistics, in December 2016, India’s cotton yarn export volume increased by 129% year-on-year, and the export value increased by 44.86% year-on-year.
