Pakistan’s cotton yarn prices fall, and a large number of low-count yarns are scheduled for export
In the week of August 24-30, as a large amount of new cotton came on the market, the prices of cotton and cotton yarn in Pakistan fell. According to statistics, last week, the spot price of Pakistan’s domestic cotton in Karachi fell by 150 rupees to 5,900 rupees/Mund, a decrease of 2.48%; the price of JC40S in Karachi fell to 3.68 cents/kg; the export price of JC30SCNF fell to 3.31 cents/kg.
It is understood that due to tight supply and strong demand before Eid al-Fitr, Pakistan’s domestic textile companies are replenishing inventory for short-term demand. At present, international demand remains strong, and there are a large number of low-count yarns scheduled for export in October shipment orders.
At present, the prices of PC yarn and PV yarn in Pakistan are stable. It is understood that the domestic PSF price in Pakistan has remained at 128 rupees/kg in the past four weeks, while the import quotation from China has increased to US$1.10/kg. It is expected that PSF prices will reach higher levels in the future. The price of viscose fiber has remained at 245 rupees/catties in the past few weeks, while the import price has increased to US$2.11/kg (CNF Karachi).
