Canada implements voluntary recall of Chinese-made children’s pajamas and baby clothes
On November 10, 2017, Health Canada and Groupe Boyz Inc. jointly announced a voluntary recall of Chinese-made children’s pajamas and baby clothes.
The recalled products are TAG brand 100% cotton baby pajamas and baby clothes, equipped with metal buckles and style codes printed on the neck tags of the clothes. Suitable for children 1, 3, 6, 9, 12, 18 and 24 months, 2 years and 3 years old. The product style codes are TGN1728AYX, TGN1790AYX, TGN1787AYX, TGN1798AYX, TGB7174AVY, TGB7174AYW, TGB7174AYY, TGN7787AYX, TGN7790AYX, TGN7798AYX.
About 31,333 units of the recalled products were sold in Aubainerie stores in Canada from October 2016 to September 2017. The reason for the recall is that the metal buckles on the clothes can fall off, posing a risk of suffocation and lacerations to children if they accidentally eat them. As of November 8, 2017, the company had received reports of four incidents from Canada related to the use of the product, including one in which an infant was slightly scratched. .
