Bangladeshi textile owners worry about rising gas prices
According to the “Daily Star” report on April 24, the Bangladesh government plans to increase the price of industrial natural gas by 66% from the current 9.62 Taka/cubic meter to 16 Taka/cubic meter, which worries textile owners. Rising natural gas prices have pushed up production costs, ultimately causing its products to lose competitiveness in the international market. It is reported that the Bangladesh government has raised the price of industrial natural gas three times since September 2015, when the price was 4.18 Taka/cubic meter.
