-Overview of China’s home textile exports
From January to March 2018, the national home textile export volume was US$5.75 billion, a year-on-year increase of 7.7%.
1. Exports to major export markets such as the United States, the European Union, and Japan have maintained growth
From January to March, home textile exports to the United States were US$1.67 billion, an increase of 7.8%. Exports to the EU were US$970 million, an increase of 5.5%; exports to Japan were US$610 million, an increase of 7.3%. From the perspective of the intercontinental market, home textile exports to Latin America were US$320 million, a year-on-year increase of 20.9%; exports to Africa were US$180 million, a year-on-year decrease of 6.5%; exports to the Middle East were US$380 million, a year-on-year decrease of 5.7%; exports to ASEAN US$490 million, a year-on-year increase of 8.9%.
2. Zhejiang’s exports increased by 10.6%, while Guangdong’s exports decreased by 10%
The top five export provinces and cities from January to March were Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong, Shanghai, and Guangdong, and all except Guangdong maintained growth. Zhejiang has the fastest growth, with an increase of 10.6%. Jiangsu’s exports increased by 9%, Shandong’s exports increased by 8.8%, Shanghai’s exports increased by 5.1%, and Guangdong’s exports decreased by 9.9%.
3. Exports of major commodities maintained growth
From January to March, exports of bedding textiles were US$2.46 billion, a year-on-year increase of 8.8%. Exports of kitchen textiles were US$390 million, a year-on-year increase of 13.9%. Exports of curtain products were US$540 million, a year-on-year increase of 0.6%. Exports of towel products were US$670 million, a year-on-year increase of 4.6%. Exports of carpets and tapestries were US$640 million, a year-on-year increase of 12.1%, and blanket exports were US$600 million, a year-on-year increase of 9.8%.
