At present, there are 42 cocoon silk deep processing enterprises in the modern silk industry chain of Haian City. In 2021, the city’s cocoon silk industry will achieve an output value of 12.1 billion yuan. The silk industry was greatly affected by the epidemic in the first quarter of this year. The transportation of raw and auxiliary materials and finished products was blocked, and freight and raw material prices rose. During this difficult period, Hai’an Silk Enterprises overcame difficulties and rose to the occasion, achieving a good start, with invoice sales of 3.915 billion yuan in the first quarter, a year-on-year increase of 14.66%. According to the arrangements of the city leaders, starting from 2022, the cultivation of modern silk industry chain will be led by the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau.
