EU issues consumer warning on Chinese girls’ tops
On July 1, 2011, the European Commission’s non-food rapid warning system issued a consumer warning on Chinese-made “Kenvelo” brand girls’ tops. The notifying country in this case is Bulgaria. The girl’s top is black, made of pure cotton, and the neck is decorated with elastic corduroy ties; the style/model code of the children’s clothing is No30100785101U, and the barcode codes are 2050001191670, 2050001191663, and 2050001191687.
Since the neck of this children’s clothing is decorated with a tether, there is a risk of strangulation and suffocation if a child uses it incorrectly. This product does not comply with the relevant EU directive EN14682.
Currently, the Bulgarian authorities have ordered a ban on withdrawing this product from the market.
To this end, it is recommended that relevant domestic production and export enterprises attach great importance to this.
