Pakistan’s “Textile City” industrial zone project will provide 10,000 jobs
According to Pakistan’s “Daily Times” report, Pakistan’s Finance Minister Sheikh told the media after a meeting a few days ago that the “Textile City” industrial zone project located in the eastern part of Port Qasim, Sindh Province is expected to provide 80,000 jobs. .
Sheikh said that the “Textile City” industrial zone covers an area of about 1,250 acres and is one of Pakistan’s large-scale public-private partnership projects. The initial infrastructure investment is about 1.5 billion rupees (1 US dollar is equivalent to 86 rupees). The project covers all ancillary industries of the textile industry and will play an important role in promoting textile exports after completion. The Executive Committee of Pakistan’s National Economic Council (ECNEC) is expected to approve the supply of 250,000 kilowatts of electricity and 30 million gallons of water per day to the “Textile City” next month.
“Textile City” CEO Zaheer Khan said that “Textile City” will become a world-class industrial zone in Pakistan focusing on the textile industry, which will help promote Pakistan to become a world textile industry hub.
