Turkey announced the abolition of the “Act on Safeguard Measures for Goods Originating in China”
According to reports from the Turkish Anatolia News Agency, the Turkish Ministry of Economy officially announced that it will abolish the “Act on Safeguard Measures for Goods Originating in China” introduced in 2003 as of February 21, 2017, and in the official communiqué The announcement of the above decision means that Turkey’s “special safeguard clause” formulated in accordance with Article 16 of China’s accession to the WTO has officially come to an end.
According to reports, in the future, Turkey will deal with the disruption that Chinese exports may cause to the Turkish market through general safeguard measures, anti-dumping and countervailing provisions in accordance with the general rules and procedures of WTO member states.
