The Han-Europe-Central Asia cotton yarn train starts regular operation
On June 14, the pick-up ceremony for the Han-Europe-Central Asia cotton yarn special train was held in Wuhan. The special train departed from Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on June 1, entered the country through Horgos Port, and arrived at the China Railway Group Wuhan Central Station on the evening of the 13th. This special train carries a total of about 800 tons of cotton yarn. At this point, the Han-Europe-Central Asia cotton yarn train has started running on a regular basis.
Uzbekistan is rich in high-quality cotton and is the largest cotton producer and exporter in Central Asia. It is known as the “Platinum Country”. 85% of Uzbekistan’s cotton is exported, with nearly 1 million tons of cotton exported every year.
The launch of the Han-Europe cotton yarn special train will open up the “One Belt and One Road” cotton yarn transportation channel “Uzbekistan-Khorgos-Wuhan”, enrich the return supply of Han-Europe trains, and at the same time fill the gap in China’s cotton yarn production and demand.
Up to now, Han-Europe has opened up international economic corridors such as the New Eurasian Continental Bridge, China-Mongolia-Russia, China-Central Asia, and China-Indochina via Alashankou, Manzhouli, Erenhot, Pingxiang, and Horgos The transportation channels for customs clearance at the five major ports have established an international logistics cross-border train network with “one main port, multiple auxiliary points, and direct access to multiple points”. It has a wide radiation range and can cover nearly 50 countries and regions in Asia and Europe through multimodal transport.
